Memories of Alveley Colliery Book II Vol. II

 Open Day and Book Launch 30^th November 2017

 At the Severn Valley Country Park

 Following the launch of “ Memories of Alveley Colliery” in July this year, a second collection of memories and photographs collated by Tim White is now available. This includes all new interviews supplied by former underground workers, surface workers and staff who worked in the pit offices and newly offered photographs. The Howard Thompson Bequest generously supported the first publication costs and with proceeds we have invested in this second publication.

If you have memories to share please do get in touch. It is so important to record this heritage for future generations. To this end and with sponsorship from Midland Quarry Products we have been able to donate this book to local reference libraries and the National Coal Mining Museum as well as Alveley and Highley Community Primary Schools.
